Band 95. Nanyang Girls' High School. Silver.

tears came after the performance, right after exiting the hall, for we sincerely felt that we did our best. We did our best for our set piece, we did our best for our choice piece. and that's what really matters.

the first note of overture, set everything right for that entire piece. you could feel the energy flowing through the band as we passed by each section of the piece, every different part showing off the star sections of our band. and too soon it ended, with the last note ringing in the air.

hymn to the infinite sky. our little birdy noises (as quoted from cheryl) started to make our seniors tear. rachel did great! I'm really proud of all the soloists, rachel celine meiqi suyi, especially celine <3 you did it, you made nycb and ms chong proud. it lifted everyone's spirits for the climax of the song. subito piano, and then the large crescendo to the climax. soon the last note was ringing in the air, and it was over. we exited the hall, and we all teared, for we know we had done our best, our very very best.

a mere 10 minutes on stage can't judge everything. we gave it our very best shot, we made our seniors and ms chong cry. we did our seniors, ms chong, our tutors, our teachers-in-charge, proud. through Hymn, we moved our seniors, and I'm sure we moved the audience too. we enjoyed what we played, many feel that we deserve much more, it's just a pity the judges don't feel the same way.

the tears came, and we all huddled together. back in the band room, we picked ourselves up once again, and accepted the silver that was awarded to us. for we know, deep in our hearts, we are more than a gold band, we are more than a gold with honours band. in all our hearts, we are the platinum band, the platinum NothingYouCanBeat.

on tuesday, when it's announced to the school, we shall cheer for something we are proud to have attained. through this, we have attained more than a medal, but a priceless experience together, one that has bonded us more than anything. we achieved our goal of making ms chong cry (for a very long timeee >) ) and for doing our very best (:

NYCB. NothingYouCanBeat. we attained a silver (a platinum in our hearts), and we are proud of it.

holidays are going to be over soon! ahh I haven't finish homework. currently taking a break from geog trip reflections although it is nicer to do than LA self assessment.

wells let's sum up holidays!

teachers' day celebration last friday :) had class party in class which was mainly eating haha. li lao shi and dr carey came, and we went to 213 to invite ms chooi over although she claimed that she would self-invite herself over o.o anyways haha you should see lilaoshi talking to dr carey :D haha. teachers's day performance, missed out on first half. hmms then went back to primary school, played captain's ball and went home :D

saturday! went back to school for drama. ahh :) we finished running through the entire script haha 16 minutes with alot of stopping in between. hurh hurh overshot already tsktsk. anyways well got alot of props we need to make, which reminds me I have made none! o: ahh we are going to have to walk back from courts carrying cardboard o.o oo haha. then went out for a supposed to be second-half-bonding-lunch but turned out that 4 people went to eat. haha.

sunday and monday was spent stoning :) and attempting to do homework ahh ):

tuesday! bukit timah naturereserve! exciting exciting we made it out alive!

well took 961 to upper bukit timah. ended up getting off at the wrong stop and having to walk all the way back to the correct one haha. then went to bukit timah nature reserve!

haha starting of the slope have this sign that said 'horn please'. haha :D anyways climed up the steep slope and we were already sweating . hmm then reached summit in around half an hour -.- ah yah so we stoned there for a while before continuing. so we decided to go to this 'jungle fall valley' place! haha.

climed down the steps and we found it was a dead end -.- anyways on jiajia's determination to find a good picture of the canopy, we decided for the sake of geography, to continue walking for a while on the north way path. hmm supposed to walk in a bit then come out cause the sky was rather dark and everything, but ended up walking all the way in. can't really remember much, but we reached this place where there were two roads. haha reminds me of the poem on choice, where it also involved two roads. haha so jiajia and me scissors paper stoned, she won, so we went to this path up to dairy farm.

hmm it was super quiet. when we stopped there was silence except for some random sounds , one which mich proclaimed as a 'monkey scratching its belly' haiyo . and we only met 2 people on the way up to dairy farm! o: yeap and so it seemed like it was going to rain, and it was quiet and we didnt really know where we were, and there wasn't anybody around! ahh X)

anyways got this stairs which was snakey haha. turn here and there . yep then it started to drizzle. which turned into a downpour. haha but due to the dense vegetation I couldn't feel the rain! anyways yeah reached dairy farm hut! we were shocked that we climed the entire thing, yeah but means have to go back ._. so we decided to continue instead of waiting for the rain to stop. hmm going back was more difficult then coming, cause it was going up to the summit again . whoo and it was raining so the soil was slippery. anyways yeah climbed climbed climbed, npcc and girl guides were good! fast fast :) anyways the route was really like in the mountain. haha can't believed I climbed through all that.

yeah then we reached the bottom of the stairs where we had decided to continue venturing. ahh so we climed up and guess what? we met the other group comprising of silei, shihui, dung, joykhor and baoxian! heard them shouting jiajia's name. hmm finally reached back on man-made ground! whoo :) soaked entirely in sweat. anyways meishan seemed very white, although she is already very fair. the other group funny funny one, sat at the hut on the summit for around 45mins waiting for the rain stop! haha. and shihui came in slippers, cause she said it was supposed to be a stroll -.- anyways heard their stories while we rest.

haha well anyways walked back down with them, then went for lunch at pizza hut! went to sylvia's house, supposedly to study for geog and complete our sad geog assignment. turned out to do a bit, eat, lie here and there, do yoga o.o . haha.

well interesting day! ahh :) wednesday had chem, went for lunch with jiajia before that. anyways went to school and we saw victoria, mich and dung! surprised haha. yeap then went up to conference room; our class had 16 people who went! haha :) had to re-register for it , anyways didn't do much but 25 balancing chemical equations! o: wahhh.

thursday! went back to band room :) haha so met auntie lala at 7.40 outside band room. attempted to do maths paper 2 while she attemped the 25 balancing equation questions. in the end she ended up singing the 12 lotus song and feeling happy that she went to watch the show. haha. jeslyn and sylvia dropped by but left for CO.

then clarice came, tabby and sandy came, qiuluan and pau came, huizhen came :) clarice sandy tabby went into band room while we stayed outside. 'finished' the maths paper at 10.45, still left one question and bonus . hai. realised got this 70 questions for history on LMS! ): well huizhen kept going 'whywhywhywhy' and pau tied kiri to her hair -.- sheesh. yeap did a bit of nationalism after that then went for lunch! serene centre :) on the way was discussing about a water theorem with its waterproof with huizhen :D

sat at this corridor which had a sign that said "No gaming and eating along the corridors". haha didnt see it until a very long while later. just as we were saying about it, a guy appeared at the door of the staircase. we thought it was the security guard! haha got a shock. went back to school and played volleyball which evolved into soccer! haha pau always didnt want to kick the ball cause she bought new shoes -.-

anyways went up, prac-ed for 1h40min. soaked reeds, played new york, yange! haha we were playing and dancing to yange and tabby kept making the wrong moves -.- (sound like she's playing chess) at the trumpet solo part we were all looking at pauline and she looked quite blur. haha she then realised it wasn't her part! then played the jap farewell song :) ahh the nice song. I think we played hymn after that, then little fugue and pirate's dream.

packed then continued studying. tried to haha. discussed subject combination options, I guess I'm not changing options . see after EOYs haha. then went out and studied chem with pau tan. she attemped the 25 chemical equations too muhahaha. after that went back with clarice sandy tabby.

today! decided not to go out and study . well, still didnt do much cause easily distracted. haiyo. well anyways, tomorrow going for concert :) pressplay! haha
